Members of the Egypt
Shrine Railroaders Unit are responsible for building and
maintaining the magnificent engine and caboose that is
seen by all in area parades. The caboose serves an
important purpose. This is where the Railroaders ladies
serve coffee, donuts, hot dogs and cold drinks to the
appreciative parade participants. The ladies also
station themselves in the parade route and let out loud
cheers whenever the Shrine passes by. The bar in their
unit room is built to resemble a small town railroad
ticket booth. It is evident that the love of railroading
is rampant in this unique Unit. It is well stated in the
uniforms worn by these Nobles,- stripped bib overalls, a
railroaders cap and a red neckerchief identify this
group of Nobles. There is no doubt of the fun being had
by the Railroader Unit when they team up with the
Keystone Kops to hold their annual Spaghetti Festival.
All you can eat of the delicious pasta and authentic
sauce and there is an ample supply of camel" milk for
those who enjoy that.
