Egypt
Shrine Yacht Club was formed by a group of dedicated
boaters and Shriners during the late summer and fall of
1989. In December of 1989 we received our charter from
Egypt Shrine as an officially recognized Club. It was
just a matter of time before the Club was formed since
there were so many nobles with boats who enjoyed
cruising, fishing, and of course fellowship with other
Shriners. From its inception the Club has strived to
schedule at least one boating activity each and every
month. Being located on the west coast of Florida makes
this a reality.
Since
being formed, the Club has become one of the largest and
most active of the “Special Clubs” at Egypt Temple. Many
of our members serve on various committees and in
positions where they assist in Egypt Shrine projects.
Boaters are well known for being sociable people and our
members fit well within this mold. Egypt Shrine Yacht
Club and its Nobles belong to both the International
Association of Shrine Clubs and the Florida Shrine
Mariner’s Association. This affords us the opportunity
to interact with Shrine Mariners from other Shrines..
Besides our rendezvous, each month we meet for dinner
with our Mates and have a short meeting, and when we say
short we mean short. Our meetings are held the third
Thursday of each month. We meet at various restaurants
in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Call Noble Grad
Krause (727.372.6700) for this month's location.
